Ambulance Training in East England

Hamilton's Driver Training is only one of a handful of training companies in the East of England offering ambulance driver training. In most cases it is a requirement to have passed your Category C1 Licence due to the weight and size of the vehicle in question. The C1 licence allows you to drive vehicles between 3.5 and 7.5 tonnes MAM (maximum authorised mass), without external trailers. Given that the average ambulance exceeds 3.5 tonnes of actual weight once you load in equipment and patients, the Category C1 is the standard licence for ambulance drivers.

Our Ambulance Driver Courses

To drive an ambulance, you must legally have the driving licence category on your licence that enables you to drive a vehicle in excess of 3500kg but no greater than 7500kg.
To obtain this licence, you will need to complete a C1 training course that specialises in ambulance driver training.
The courses will cover the manoeuvring, safety and driving capabilities for a larger vehicle.
When you apply for one of our courses we always take into consideration your individual requirements and structure the course to suit you.
